The AND function is a logical function used to require more than one condition at the same time. AND returns either TRUE or FALSE. The AND function can be used as the logical test inside the IF function.
Purpose of Excel AND Function
Test multiple conditions with AND.
TRUE if all the conditions evaluate to TRUE, else it returns a FALSE.
=AND (logical1, [logical2],….)
|logical1||An expression or reference to a cell containing an expression that represents some logical value, i.e.TRUE or False.||Mandatory|
|[logical2]||Additional expressions or references to cells containing expressions representing some logical values, i.e.TRUE or False.||Optional|
- This function is not case-sensitive.
- This function does not support wildcards.
- Text values or empty cells supplied as arguments are ignored.
- This function will return #VALUE if no logical values are found or created during evaluation.
Since 2007 for Windows.
Since 2011 for Mac.
In the given example the return value will be TRUE if the score is less than 50 and 90 , FALSE if not matched with the given criteria.
Thus here Deepika’s result is FALSE as her score is not less than 50 and 90. The formula used in this is =AND(C4<50,C4<90). The cell reference criteria given here is score column.
NOTE: Text values or empty cells supplied as arguments are ignored in AND function.
