In this tutorial, let’s see how to filter text with wildcards. Asterisk, question mark, and tilde are the three wildcard characters in Excel.
Suppose, you have a data set as shown below. So, how will you filter the text that has only wildcards.
Stick to the following steps.
Step 1 – Select the cells to which you want to apply filter >> Data >> Sort and filter>>Filter.
A dropdown arrow appears likes this.
Step 2 – Click on the filter icon to apply the filter specifications.
Step 3– Now, type R* to filter text that starts with R and has * in it. Click OK.
